ballack and chelsea
In Film, chelsea, michael ballack on 4 September 2007 at 7:57 amalthough there’s no real new news here aside from ballack not being selected amongst the 23 who will be starting for chelsea. mourinho had already hinted that no one on the team was an automatic ‘in’ in the starting line-up. ballack is a great player. but every month, its seems his decision not to purchase a house in london was a very smart move.
aging brad pitt won’t remove sunglasses
In Film, brad pitt, venice film festival on 4 September 2007 at 7:47 amthe big secret is out. stars don’t wear sunglasses merely to look cool, they wear them out of fear. for some people, its about the crows feet and/or bags under their eyes. for others, its because they p.r. hags and stylists have informed them that in natural light, they look simply horrible. during the press conference for the assasination of jesse james by the coward robert ford at the venice film festival, brad pittt disappointed photographers by not removing his glasses. perhaps he needs a new make-up artist.
aint it cool review of the film gives it 2 1/2 stars. the hollywood reporter wasn’t much kinder.
south african charlize theron wants u.s. troops back in america
In Film, stupid celebrities on 3 September 2007 at 8:08 amnothing would give me more joy than to see them back in america charlize theron said at a press conference during the venice film festival. why is it that everyone in the world thinks they are an american just because they’re in a movie about an american? what does she care? this gets filed under ’stupid celebrities’
high school musical 2 goes to london
In Film, high school musical, vanessa hudgens, zac efron on 3 September 2007 at 7:48 ami’m revisiting a story which seems to have been glossed over by zines. basically, in the u.s., the soundtrack for the t.v. show, high school musical 2 has sold 615,000 copies in its first week. dave matthews new album pulled in 70,000 to come in at number 3. the biggest selling album in the u.s. last year was the original soundtrack for high school musical 1. the pre-teenies seem to be the only lifeline left for the music industry. is that because they’re too young to download an entire album? nope. its because they have an emotional connection with the music and the cast members. and disney has done a bang up job getting the cast out to high schools around the world. case in point, there was a fan premiere at the weekend at the o2 stadium in london. zac efron, vanessa hudgens and crew were there as well.
john cusack gets it right
In Uncategorized on 2 September 2007 at 12:59 pmthe brief moment i lived in los angeles, i had at least 2 john cusack sitings. once in malibu at a pizza parlor and one time on rose avenue walking down the street. he was always dressed in black. and dare i say the tall one slouches when he walks. years ago, when i lived in the midwest, i glimpsed him and his pals (perhaps the future ari gold?) pogoing up and down to a fishbone song at the cabaret metro.
it touched my little heart to read that john cusack agrees with me, that so far in his career, which launched with ‘16 candles’ (the only john hughes film that holds up over time), he’s only made 10 good films.
nbc and iTunes split
In nbc, televsion on 2 September 2007 at 9:21 amaccoring to the l.a. times, first nbc decided not to extend their contract with apple’s iTunes service beyond december, then apple got their panties in a bunch and decided to pull the plug on nbc for the fall. tit for tat? yes, of course.
should nbc expect to get $4.99 for a download of one of their t.v. series verses the present $1.99? can’t you rent movies for your antiquated dvd system for somewhere between those 2 numbers? do consumers in los angeles have time to watch t.v. on their iPod nanos while driving, putting on make-up, picking their noses, and sipping their double mocha non-fat lattés. i think not.
